Biography

On October 10, 2004, Patum Peperium began:

"When the time comes to create a reality television show about two quirky, huggable, lovable New Criterion readers in small town America who make good, the clear pick will be John Peperium and his wife Janet (Mrs. Peperium if you please)."

"'Patum Peperium' conveys the life of a Midwestern New Criterion-reading family in Pepysian detail."

"The plan: to stand athwart history yelling, 'slow down'".

James Panero, Arma Virumque (October, 2004)

On May 22, 2007 Patum Peperium stopped being a blog and became a magazine. (More to come on all that.)

September 14, 2007:

"Blog discovery: Patum Peperium. Don't know what it means; don't know who they are, except that they're a transatlantic bunch of funny Catholics who write well. But I know this: besides being Catholic and writing well, they link to me. Also to Manolo, Dawn Eden, and Arts & Letters Daily. So you just know."
