Madame's Nightshirt
Mrs. Peperium
.
Setting: The Peperium's former home with the children fast asleep in their bed and crib upstairs, the cats snoozing soundly in front of the fire and the pit bull not even born. Mr. and Mrs. P are at the dining room table. The candles are lit, the wine is chambred and poured. A special dinner awaits in the kitchen to be served.
..
Mr. P (raising his glass to Mrs. P): "Happy Anniversary, Honey."
Mrs. P: "Happy 15 years, Darling."
Mr. P smiles at Mrs. P warmly, clicks her glass and speaks, "It's only been 14 years. It just feels like it's been 15."
..
.
Here's to 5 years of what feels like 6,
Thanks for reading us.

I am hopeful that Mrs. Peperium's sentiments on this day echo those of Nora Charles at the end of this clip:

Whatever the Peperiums think of their "guests," I want to say thanks to them for hosting such a wonderfully stimulating salon over all these years. I am grateful for the hospitality.

Thanks for putting up with your guests. Oh and do you mind if I borrow the phone?

Best wishes on your aniversary. Just when we thought the world was ready to fall apart, a reason to celebrate!
Just go easy on the caviar. I'm not sure it's sustainable.

And from those of us who don't have a place at table but are allowed to come in afterwards, Huzzay! Huzzah!

Congratulations!!!
Time does fly when you're having fun.
Now you should start preparations to publish a book from all your posts here. It would make a nice gift for family and friends.
Cheers!

Nora Charles: How many drinks have you had?
Nick Charles: This will make six Martinis.
Nora Charles: [to the waiter] All right. Will you bring me five more Martinis, Leo? Line them right up here.
~ Here's to many more! Cheers!
