Many of you are probably wondering what a heretic like FLG does during Yuletide. It's not all that different from your Christmas celebrations. He's sure that's a huge surprise to many of you. Being as you accept the Church's teaching, you probably think that we heretics practice rites similar to what Gregory IX wrote in Vox in Rama in 1233. You know, that we "put out the candles, and turn to the practice of the most disgusting lechery, making no distinction between those who are strangers and those who are kin.”
While we heretics can get a little out of control, incest ain't exactly on our typical Christmas agenda. Instead, we decorate Christmas trees. Stockings by the fireplace. Visit friends and family. We go to church. Rail against things like selling indulgences, simony, Mariology, saintly intercession, particular judgment. Which ones we are railing against at
the moment depends on how we're feeling and how much egg nog we've had. Just remember we're heretics, not theological ignoramuses.
This year FLG's in-laws will be in town and since his mother-in-law is a fish eater FLG will probably be attending...wait for it...a Catholic Mass. Perhaps even in Father M's parish. He'll be the one with an eye patch and a parrot on his shoulder.

Merry Christmas!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Holly was employed in FLG's wreath. No doubt because, like our FLG, holly is always elegant and appropriate. But did FLG know how appropriate his choice of holly for his wreath was? To wit -literally: " The holly bush represents immorality, a trait that God has given to each human being. We are all destined to live forever, either with the Lord or separated from Him. The sharp-toothed edge of the holly leaf reminds Christians of the crown of thorns with which the soldiers mocked Our Lord during His Passion. They laughingly hailed Him as king, never realizing that He is, indeed, King of the universe. As a Christmas symbol, the red holly berry represents Christ's blood, shed for all people including those who reject Him." FLG, I do agree - not too shabby at all. Rather, Well done! - Mrs. P

FLG - I've been to many a Palie service in my puff, so I know all about what they mean by "passing the peace".
Pervs.....
Mrs. P- We planted a hedge of holly along the sidewalk in front of our house a couple years ago. As we did it for privacy, would this count as a "Vade retro, Satanis" or a "Come on in!" symbol?

Mrs. P,
Imagine my surprise to learn that God has given each of his creatures the trait of immorality!
