The Ancient

The old joke about Washington being "Hollywood for ugly people" has this corollary: Nobody knows anything. (Or bothers much to remember anything.)

For example, "shovel-ready projects" has been a joke phrase since the Carter Administration. They almost NEVER exist. This has been understood by almost everyone involved in economic policy since the mid-seventies. (See, for instance, http://www.rand.org/pubs/reports/R2214.html)

I don't disagree with what you say Ancient. In fact I believe I agree 100%. Which makes the world wonder how such a brilliant and historic president would make such an enormous and cruel mistake. Enormous as we're talking 2 trillion. Or was it 1 trillion? Cruel because people are losing their jobs, homes and savings as well as dreams. And cruel because they spent what? 1 or 2 trillion of taxpayer dollars. 1 or 2 trillion that has to be paid back by several trillions of people someday. And what was the 1 or 2 trillion actually for? Propping up public unions that have automatic union fees that automatically dump money into the Democrat Party coffers - in other words - a slush fund to re-elect Dems.
